Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Bring your photography to the next level by joining Max Rive during this 12+ hours in-depth masterclass in which he shares with you all his secrets of landscape photography for the very first time. Max and his team have visited the high mountains of Northern Norway and the Alps of Switzerland, France and Germany in search for the best mountain shots. This has resulted in 7 in depth photo classes in which every aspect will be covered: Planning, Google Earth scouting, weather forecasts, Route finding to the spot, hike preparations, location and composition scouting, dealing with sun flare,
shooting in difficult conditions, composition analyses, manual focus-stacking, panorama tips and tricks and post processing classes from start to finish.
Not only will Max Rive teach you how to get these photography results, other important photography related subjects will also be covered. In-depth interviews, tips and tricks regarding his Instagram success, Photography contests, photography as a hobby vs a career, what it takes to be successful, how to develop your own style, preparing yourself for a hike, what is the best camera gear and more.

When the sun is still above the mountains it can create some incredible light rays. But how can you capture this without tons of sunflare and an overexposed sky. On this evening, in the far East of the Swiss Alps, we faced the most difficult conditions with just some thin veil clouds above the horizon, making the sky even more overexposed. On top of that, the sunrays were losing strength as the sun was setting. Shooting into the still bright sun was the only option to come back with dramatic light.
This lesson will begin with a demonstration how Max Rive comes up with his choice of composition. He is covering subjects such as balance of the composition, leading lines, position of the subject, foreground to background depth, presence of colors, the contours of the horizon and more. Last but not least – he will demonstrate how he will solve the problem of shooting into strong sunlight.
During the post processing session Max will use different RAW files – all taken directly after each other – and combines them in a way that makes it look like the actual scene. The only difference is that now you can actually look into the sun, while on location you had to cover it with your hands.
Other processing techniques and subjects: the unique contrast control technique, advanced dodge and burning, highlight removal and highlight painting, all of Max Rive’s color control techniques and more.
The mountain selfies from Max Rive, it were these photos that made him famous as a landscape photographer. ‘’How do you take these photos? Do you photoshop yourself in the frame?’’ Is what most people ask him. He will show you exactly how he is able to take the photo himself and be on the spot at the same time. Max will further explain why some locations are great for a mountain selfie, and others don’t. Finally, he will explain how to compose a mountain selfie and look out for leading lines, balance in the composition, the best distance between camera and man and the best foreground.
In Photoshop special attention goes out to the overexposed sky, which will be recovered with the use of Max Rive’s highlight recovery techniques. Although the sun is still behind the cloud in this photo, Max manages to make this mood visible – an in-depth demonstration how to achieve this look is included. Further techniques include: Light ray enhancements, separation between layers, objects and colors, selective color techniques and many more.
This incredible location is far away from any trail, road or village. It was discovered with the help of Google earth. Come join us on this adventure and learn how to find a location like this yourself. From the planning behind the computer, through navigating through the bushes and up steep mountain slopes to the final spot.
After Max and his team arrived at the spot and set-up their tent – an in-depth lesson follows how to make a viewpoint look interesting. Subjects which will be covered: the need of fore and midground, the use of the mountain slope as framing, the connection of subjects inside the frame, taking a mountain selfie and much more.
In Post processing all individual images will be merged into 1 photo. Different distortion correction techniques will be used in order to make it look like if it was shot as 1 photo. Special attention goes to the contrast between the fore- and background, the enhancement of the subjects, light from the side, local warping, advanced dodge and burning, color balance techniques and much more.
Mount Segla is one of Northern Norway’s most spectacular mountains. It’s status hasn’t gone unnoticed, which resulted in many photos from this icon showing up on social media. In this lesson Max Rive will demonstrate and explain to you his scouting technique to fins something completely unique. A tiny bush was all he needed to come up with this new masterpiece.
This is a 6 shot panorama taken handheld while lying on the ground and holding the camera only a few centimeters away from the mountain slope. Using a tripod would not even be possible. As a result, the photos needed some work in Post processing. Special warping had to be done to remove the distortion. The small bush was also lacking separation with the background – with some selective color and other contrast separation techniques this issue has been resolved during the Processing part. The sun and the light rays have also been edited by using Max’s creative light control techniques.
