SENJA ITINERARY

Day 1

No later than 10 AM we’ll pick you up from Evenes Airport or your nearby accommodation. After we meet, we’ll begin the 3.5-hour drive to our first location. Along the way, we’ll stop for coffee, snacks, and a bathroom break.

Our first camp site is easy to reach from where we’ll park. It will follow a small unknown hiking trail that will lead us to our amazing campsite and viewpoint over the fiords. We’ll put up tents and shoot around base camp. At sunset, our group will choose between a 400 or 600 meter ascent. Each offer captivating views, and we’ll shoot the most amazing ones for both sunset and sunrise.

Day 2 and 3

After our sunrise shoot and a well-deserved breakfast, we’ll hike down and drive to a nearby cafe for our first post processing session and coffee. Then, we’ll stop at a supermarket before starting our 45 minute hike to the next camp site. This one is located near a ridge with an overview of Segla. This mountain is not exactly unknown (anymore) but for a good reason – it is one of the most photogenic mountains in Scandinavia. With a vertical mountain wall on one side with the fjords just below it. On the other side there is also a fjord and in the distance the views are just as incredible. We’ll shoot this beautiful mountain during the next 2 sunsets and sunrises with multiple different locations to choose from both near and away from our tents. Though the number of locations are plenty – they are all within relatively short reach of our basecamp.

Images Day 2 and 3

Day 4, 5 and 6

During these days, we’ll set up our tents beneath the best high vantage point in Senja. This hike is about 45 minutes to the campsite, and from there, it’ll be about 40 minutes to the summit. From the summit view we are surrounded by the beautiful fjords and vertical mountains Senja is known for. There is no other place in the world where you can reach such an spectacular view which is only 700 meters above sea level though is more spectacular than many views in the high Himalayas.

As we hike down the mountain to the cars, we’ll stop at numerous areas for photos. Although the hiking might be done, we’ll still drive to some nice locations to shoot. After this, it’s time to say goodbye and drop everyone off at the airport/accommodation.

We recommend bringing a wide angle (zoom) and a tele-zoom lens. The 15 - 30 mm range is essential (on a full frame) while 30 to 200mm is recommended.

We recommend to bring only 2 lenses in order to keep the weight down to a minimum.

Not at all – you will be able to provide us with your allergy/dietary restriction upon registration.
