ITINERARY

Day 1 + 2

You will be picked up from Calafate Airport or your accommodation and, after meeting the group, begin a 3-hour drive to El Chaltén. Upon arrival, you will meet the porters and guide who will assist during the first 5 days of the tour. We will have an apartment available at all times - in case of terrible weather.
Non-essential gear can be left at the apartment.

Time to get moving into the mountains! The first part of the hike is uphill, reaching the basecamp after one hour. The camp offers views of a lake with Monte Fitz Roy in the distance. We will capture sunset shots from the lake and nearby waterfall, with the option to photograph the Milky Way over Fitz Roy later in the night.

Images Day 1 + 2

Day 2 + 3

This morning will be a memorable one because we will witness the first sunrise on Monte Fitz Roy from a very special location near our basecamp. It offers a
stunning view with a river leading to the mountain. After this incredible sunrise shoot, a breakfast and a one hour hike we will arrive at our second basecamp.
We are now not far from Monte Fitz Roy and will visit many different spots around basecamp which all have a unique character.

Images Day 2 + 3

Day 4

We will shoot from multiple great
locations around our basecamp and also
visit Laguna de los Tres - the highest lake
in the area! It is directly on the foot of Monte Fitz Roy. We will also visit a graveyard of dead trees, Laguna Sucia, a secret viewpoint and many more great spots. There will also be great night
photography options for the real die-hards!

Images Day 4

Day 4 and 5

After our morning shoot on Day 4 (Monte Fitz Roy) it is time to visit Cerro Torre. To reach our basecamp we hike along a mostly flat hiking trail. The hike is roughly 2+ hours and offers some incredible views on the mountains and the beautiful summer green coloured forests.

From Cerro Torre basecamp, we will shoot he mountain from the lake and the river from both sides. To get the best photos we have to cross the river by rope harness. Don't worry, you will be 100% secured. Our guide will take care of the required gear and permits. All locations are near our basecamp. At night, if the weather allows it, we will shoot Cerro Torre with the night sky!

Day 5 and 6

On Day 5 after another great morning shoot around Cerro Torre, it is time to hike back to El Chalten. We will check-in to our four star accommodation (different from our apartment). For sunset we will drive to our sunset spot. We will shoot Monte Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre in
one shot with a river lining up underneath. It is also possible to get some great comps with your drone.

On Day 6 we will OF COURSE head out for a sunrise shoot. There are different options depending on the weather and how the shoot on Day 5 went. We will also start driving
towards Chile/Torres del Paine. Along the way we will look out for guanacos. They can often be seen in the fields in front of Monte Fitz Roy and can be shot with our tele lenses.

Images Day 5 and 6

Day 7, 8 and 9

From Day 7 to 9 we will stay in Torres del
Paine, Chile. We will only do small hikes
with great views. The landscape is more
flat but with mountains just as steep and
spectacular as in Argentina. The forests
are smaller and more bold - due to the
hard winds and a wildfire that occurred
many years ago. The sunrises are some
of the best in the world due to the
location of the mountains and the lack
of mountains in the east. We will shoot
many unique comps not found on other
tours! During the day we will relax in our
luxurious hotel. Max is always ready for
editing tips and criteque sessions.

Day 9 and 10

After our incredible sunrise shoot on Day 9 in Torres del Paine we return to Argentina. We check into our hotel in El Calafate in the evening and pack our bags for the next days flight. But don't pack your camera gear just yet, because in the morning on Day 10 we will first visit the Perito Moreno glacier. This glacier is 30km/19miles long and has to be visited and shot. We will aim for some dramatic clouds in the morning and frame the glacier with one of the trees.

After checkout and breakfast it is time to drop everyone at the airport at no later than 13:00 hours.
