The best conditions in the Fanal forests are when there is mist. This will create the separation between the trees and will result in more depth and moody images. The forest's misty conditions can vary sometimes lingering all day, other times only appearing at specific times. On rare occasions, the sun breaks through the mist, creating a magical atmosphere with beams of light filtering through the fog, illuminating the landscape. These ever-changing conditions offer unique photo opportunities, from ethereal mist to vibrant sunlit scenes. Each day we will explore different parts of this magical forest.

Some areas of the forest are more enclosed, offering darker moods and richer green tones compared to the open spaces. Mist plays a key role in creating separation and enhancing the atmosphere. We will capture different trees across various parts of the forest, each with its unique composition and mood. While most of our time will be spent exploring this ancient forest we will also shoot numerous waterfalls in other areas of the island.

Weather depending we will photograph the coast of Madeira which offers many spectacular views. The sunrises here are incredible and often colourful. If you like seascapes you will love this area! We will always check the forecast to ensure the best chances of a good sunrise here.
